Game Changer

In last week's post, I said that I'd show my teacher binder with my style of plans.
Never mind.

As I was perusing my Facebook the other day, I found THIS!
1)  This is THE BLOG that saved me when I had to move from 1-2 Loop to 5th grade when my husband accepted his first principal job and we uprooted faster than fast!
2)  She "is a genius and we need [hisss] maaand."  (Can you name the movie?)

Anywho...I'd toyed around with this last spring, didn't commit, but was definitely intrigued.
This year?
Total game changer.
It's a virtual version of my "sticky note paradise" plan book from last year!
What makes THIS better is that I can...

  • Move my unfinished plans with ease,
  • Colorcode my plans to match their Composition Notebooks (ooh, la la,)
  • Link to standards in a snap,
  • Create and copy templates,
  • Share my plans with others,
  • Print a PDF version if I feel like it,
  • and...I can access old plans from previous years.

Now.
To be honest, that would have never crossed my mind before.
See, I've never taught the same grade level more than two consecutive years.
Yup.
Year 15.
That one time, I taught Kindergarten twice.
And that was about a decade ago.
Looking at old plan books is just something that never occurred to me.
Not that I see ever see myself teaching the same year 20 times; but it WILL be nice to not reinvent the wheel.
Every.  Single.  Year.
Most of all excited that a few of my buddies are digging planbook.com, too!
I'd link to their blogs, but only one of them has one!
Unless....we're more alike than I realize, and they, TOO, are blogging under the radar!
Hmmm....
